The Stono Retreat - Minutes to Downtown & Beach

Taylor was the best host I’ve ever had with how proactive he was ! It was a short drive to access everything we wanted to see so would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to hit all of Charlestons hot spots!

We had a wonderful experience staying at Taylor's house! We booked last minute, and despite the auto-response indicating that it would take 24 hours to hear back, Taylor was incredibly quick to respond to our request. His prompt communication made our last-minute plans so much easier! The house was exactly as described, clean, comfortable, and perfectly located. I highly recommend staying at Taylor's place if you're looking for a reliable and welcoming host. Thank you, Taylor, for making our trip so enjoyable!

We had a great time in Charleston because we had a safe and spacious home made! we were able to comfortably cook all of our meals in the well stocked kitchen and we enjoyed family time on the patio too!

Highly, highly, highly recommend this place. Taylor is a great host and the property is exactly how he describes it. We were visiting for a wedding and also did some tourist attractions. It is centrally located to what we wanted to do. The longest we had to drive anywhere we wanted to go was 30 minutes. Usually it was a 10-15 minute drive. The house was pristine clean and plenty of dishes / utensils at our disposal. We used the back patio and grill a couple of times while we were there. Taylor is a great host. He reached out to me a few times- from welcoming us for using the Airbnb, to offering any help on making reservations, asking if we needed anything while we were there to the final check out and follow up. He was a pleasure to work with. We definitely would book again this location and with Taylor. And finally, the weather was PERFECT. 😁😁😁😁

Taylor was incredibly responsive and flexible with our early check-in, which we really appreciated. The stay was wonderful, and we would absolutely come back to this place the next time we visit Charleston!

Our family had a wonderful stay at Taylor’s place. The house was as described it was a super cute cottage in a very nice quiet neighborhood. We had board games to play at night before winding down. Has plenty of space for our family of 5. Backyard was spacious and had a very nice fire pit for us to make s’mores with. Taylor was super quick to respond to any questions we had and very helpful with ideas of entertainment and food. It was not far at all from Folly Beach or even some of the other beaches. Would definitely recommend Taylor’s place.

We enjoyed our stay. The location was great, close to Charleston’s downtown and Folly Beach. Everything was clean and ready for us. Our kids enjoyed the games, including awesome chess set. Taylor offered help through messages and was quick to respond. Something that I didn’t pay attention to in the description is that both bathrooms are on the first floor. We stayed with elderly grandparents so they had the bottom bedroom and we (parents) took one of the top bedrooms. We had to walk downstairs on steep stairs in middle of the night, which was not ideal.

Great location, charming home, nice that the backyard was fenced and had a super cute fire pit! Very clean! Host was very friendly and very proactive with sending messages ahead of time and kind! One of our favorite trips!

The location is convenient, but traffic does pile up outside the house during rush our. The couch and table are nice in that they can fit almost everyone!

Accommodating and understanding

Clean & had plenty of amenities, main complaint would be the location. Not far from downtown Charleston, 15min, but neighborhood was often blocked by heavy traffic. There is monetization of some add-ons, so be prepared if you wish to request early check-in or check-out. Otherwise Taylor was communicative and available if needed.

Taylor’s place was perfect for our weekend trip. Very comfortable and lots of space for our group. It was centrally located and easy to get to. We would definitely stay again.

Nice little house.

The place was great. Taylor is very quick to respond when we had questions. Check in was very easy. The house had everything we needed. My kids loved having the second floor to themselves. Two of the four bedrooms were upstairs. Unfortunately we had to cut our stay early. Taylor was great and asked if there was anything he could do for us.

Taylor’s house had everything we needed for a perfect stay. It provided space for us to spread out but was close enough to be with local family nearby. The location was convenient to Wadmalaw Island, downtown and to Folly Beach, all places we were going. Plus it’s located right around the corner from the Charleston Municipal golf course. We had 3 cars and there was more than enough room for parking. We definitely consider staying here in the future.

Great place to stay on James Island--well equipped space near so many destinations.

We had a great stay in this well kept older style home. It was in a great location to enjoy Charleston, Folly Beach and the Shem Creek area. We appreciated the comfortable beds after out being out and about exploring the area most of each day.

Had a great time visiting Charleston and Folly Beach. This was a good midway spot between the two. The house was comfortable and we slept well. We enjoyed some of the games the house had (dominos, rummikub, uno). Only thing I’d note is that the stairs to the two upstairs bedrooms are steep and the steps are small. So my big feet didn’t fit on them well. No issues, though. I’d stay here again next time I’m over this way!
